Location. Hotel Cervantes is located in Porto, Portugal, in the commercial district of Vila Nova de Gaia opposite the department store El Corte Ingles. The historic port wine cellars are one kilometre away, as is the Old Town across the river. Joao de Deus metro station is within 100 metres.
Hotel Features. Hotel Cervantes is a modern block with an air conditioned marble tiled lobby and 24 hour reception serving coffee. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available in public areas. The hotel offers a dry cleaning service, a safety deposit box. Garage parking is provided nearby (surcharge).
The Meeting Point bar is open 24 hours, serving cocktails, ports, and snacks. A complimentary buffet breakfast is served daily. There are no restaurants on site, but many dining options are within 500 metres.
The nearest beach is Praia da Luz, five kilometres away. There are also golf courses within five kilometres. The front desk can help to organise local tours, car rental and cruises on the Douro River.
Guestrooms. The 53 guestrooms of Hotel Cervantes are simply furnished in warm yellows. All rooms are air conditioned and have satellite television, wireless Internet access, desks, direct dial phones, and complimentary bottled water.
Expert Tip. Port wine was named after the city of Porto and was historically shipped from Vila Nova da Gaia. Many of the port wine cellars for different companies are within one kilometre of each other and the Visitor Centre offers guided tours and tastings.

From Porto Airport (OPO):
Distance to Hotel Cervantes is 18 kilometres, approximately 20 minutes' drive.
Getting there. The Violet line (E) on Porto's metro system runs from the airport to the city centre, and single tickets cost 1.35 EUR. The station at the airport is in front of arrivals. Change at Trindade Station for the yellow metro line to Joao de Deus station, 100 metres from the hotel. Buses depart for the city centre every 20 30 minutes. A taxi direct to the hotel costs 25 30 EUR. Prices are all subject to change.
Getting around. Porto's modern, efficient metro system runs between 6 AM and midnight. Trams and buses are available throughout the city, and one ticket can be used on the buses, trains, and metro. Intercity and local trains run from Porto to destinations across Portugal.
Driving directions. From Porto Airport:
Follow signs for Oporto and enter the VCI direction Gaia.
Cross the Ponte da Arrabida bridge and, after about 2 kilometres, leave at exit St Ovidio.
Continue straight into Avenida da Republica, where you will find the Hotel Cervantes on the right hand side.
