The Galo Resort Ondamar is a peaceful holiday complex set in lush oceanfront gardens, located eight kilometres from the Palheiro Golf Course and 12 kilometres from Funchal. Its 124 bright, modern guestrooms have simple furnishings and cool tiled floors. Rooms lead out onto balconies with ocean views and amenities include cable television, direct dial phones, minibars, and hair dryers.
Guests can wake up to an invigorating workout at the gym, take spinning, aerobics and yoga classes, or swim a few lengths of the two outdoor pools. Five restaurants offer a selection of cuisine, serving from traditional Italian to typical Madeiran and Portuguese cuisine to sweet and savoury pancakes. The onsite scuba diving school offers explorations into the breathtaking underwater nature reserve surrounding the hotel. Golf enthusiasts can enjoy a game at the Palheiro Golf Course eight kilometres away, visit the town of Funchal, take a stroll in the botanical gardens, or enjoy a fun day out at the Aquapark, all 12 kilometres away. Madeira International Airport is eight kilometres away.
