The Bonsai Escale Calais is a located in Calais town centre, opposite Calais Ville train station and eight kilometres from the Channel Tunnel. The guestrooms have simple white decor and all include satellite television, desks and private bathrooms with showers.
Guests can relax with a drink in the bar and staff on the 24 hour front desk can help with advice on the hotel and surrounding area. There is free parking on site. Although the hotel does not have its own restaurant, buffet breakfast is served each morning ( surcharge), and there are many dining options in the area. Calais town hall with its 75 metre high belfry is 100 metres away and the Eglise de Notre Dame is one kilometre away. For those travelling by ferry the port is around four kilometres away. The nearest airport is Lille, 130 kilometres (80 miles), approximately 90 minutes by car.

An hourly shuttle service runs from the airport to Lille Flandres and Lille Europe train stations. The Eurostar terminal (Lille Europe) is one kilometre east of the Old Town. From Lille Flandres, trains run to Calais and take around 75 minutes. Calais Ville station is opposite the hotel. The centre of Calais is small and easily accessed on foot. A car is useful for exploring the surrounding area.
